Notice to Stakeholders-COVID-19 countrywide lockdown
On 23 March 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a nationwide lockdown from midnight on 26 March to midnight on 16 April to combat the spread of Covid-19. The President urged all residents to stay home for at least 21 days to avoid the potential catastrophic spread of the pandemic in South Africa. As a result, the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) office will be closed from 16:00 on Thursday, 26 March until the end of the official lockdown.
The safety and health of our country, including our stakeholders and staff, is our primary focus right now. We are therefore reaching out to reassure you of the steps we are taking to continue to deliver on our mandate, although in a limited capacity.
Please note that although our offices, client-facing services and applications systems will be closed during the lockdown, some functions will continue offsite to ensure continuity and minimal disruption. Full working operations will commence on 17 April 2020 unless otherwise advised by the President.
We wish you all the best during these difficult and challenging times. Please be strong for yourself, your family and everyone else around you.
