SAQA Bulletin: Volume 13 Number 1: November 2013

The central focus of this publication is on the Bologna Process and what it means for South Africa and the Southern African region. The Bologna Process is for advancing European higher education. It has influenced the development of regional qualification frameworks and many national qualification frameworks. The first paper explores how such European education initiatives may affect South African and Southern African education systems in the context of a growing global interconnectedness. The second paper responds to the implications projected in the preceding paper. The third paper looks at how qualification frameworks promote articulation. The Bucharest Communiqué is also annexed in the Bulletin.
