Mr Malesela Maleka
Mr Maleka is the Head of the Policy, Research and Political Education Unit of the South African Communist Party (SACP). He was elected Gauteng Provincial Chairperson; Secretary for International Affairs, and Secretary General for the South African Students Congress during the period 2002 to 2005, after which he was appointed Cadreship Development Officer at the South African Communist Party (SACP) from 2005 to 2007. In 2006 he was appointed as SACP Spokesperson. He served as member of the Young Communist League of South Africa National Committee from 2006 – 2014 and in its Political Commission from 2010 – 2014.
Mr Maleka held the position of Head of Communications and Spokesperson for the South African Communist Party from April 2007 to 30 September 2013. Since October 2013 to date he is the Head of the Policy, Research and Political Education Unit of the Party. Mr Maleka was also elected to various other positions, inter alia, President of the South African Student Sports Union (2000 – 2004); President of Basketball South Africa (2008 – 2012); Member of the Commission on Employment Equity (2010 – 2015 and re-appointed for another five year term till November 2020), and member of the Banking Sector Education and Training Authority Council as a ministerial representative.
Mr Maleka holds a Professional Certificate in Public Management from Wits Business School; Higher Certificate in Economic Development from the University of the Western Cape; Advanced Diploma in Public Administration from the University of the Western Cape, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public and Development Management from Wits University.
