South African Qualifications Authority appoints Dr. Julie Reddy as Deputy Chief Executive Officer1 October 2012 The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), custodian of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF), is pleased to announce that Dr. KB Julie Reddy will be taking office as the Authority's Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) on 1 October 2012. Dr. Reddy is known for her contributions to the Education Training and Development (ETD) sector through her senior level involvement as founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHETA) (2000 - 2003), and Country Director for the Advancing Basic Education and Literacy (ABEL) Project in South Africa (1991-2000). She has been a strong visionary leader involved in the national skills development initiatives focusing on issues of job creation, redress, career growth and job mobility. As a researcher in the field of education and development Dr. Reddy embodies the values, principles and practices at the heart of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). She holds a PhD in Education, and an MSc degree in Industrial and Labour Relations, both from Cornell University, USA. SAQA commenced with a rigorous recruitment process during May 2012 to fill the position.
